What to do if you lose internet connection in your shop?

The internet is an important fundamental for every business, as most POS systems in the modern age rely on it to a certain degree.

How do you know if your internet is down?

If you are unable to send or receive orders with your POS system and its add on solutions, like Kitchen Display Solution(KDS), Tablet Mobile Ordering, Self Ordering Kiosks or QR Ordering, you might be facing internet connection issues, or a faulty router.

Check for internet before contacting Singtel

Check your internet router. The internet light and wifi lights should be green, as depicted in the picture below.

If these lights are not on, you can reboot all your internet modem and routers. If the problem still persists, you may have an internet connectivity issue or router hardware issue. In both cases, you should contact your internet service provider (Singtel, Starhub, etc.) ASAP.

The two fastest ways to reach your internet service providers are through phone calls or their twitter accounts.

What you could do while your ISP is resolving the issue

1. Connect your main POS and your add on solution devices to your mobile hotspot. You should be able to receive and send orders.

2. If mobile hotspot is not available, you may:

• Contact us at our support line to set up your kitchen docket printing (if you are using a KDS)

• Pause the mobile ordering, and provide other means of ordering to your customers

3. Feel free to let us know of your internet connectivity issues, so we can help set expectations for other merchants.
