Koufu story
Koufu is a household name in the hearts of Singaporeans. Within a span of 10 years and a vision to preserve the unique Singaporean coffee shop culture, Mr Pang Lim, who founded Koufu, expanded its business profile from neighbourhood coffee shops to modern food courts in residential areas, malls and campuses.
Challenges
When Koufu wanted to set up a new cafe, they were looking for technology that would help increase their cafe’s efficiency through digitalization. As the cafe was to be set up on campus, its customers would be of a younger, tech-savvy demographic, hence, a self-ordering kiosk was the way to go.
A traditional POS system would not be very practical for small shop space and would incur a higher cost for Koufu.
Koufu wanted a space-saving and cost-effective solution which could allow customers to self order, while still allowing their staff to take orders and manage operations through their POS system when needed.
MEGAPOS Solution
In order to provide a solution to Koufu’s requirements, MEGAPOS’s team had to make customizations to not only our MEGAPOS POS system and kiosk software but also our hardware. These customizations produced a first of its kind, a 2-in-1 POS & Kiosk solution which helps Koufu reduce their labour cost as they did not have to station a staff to take orders.
On top of that, MEGAPOS 2-in-1 POS & Kiosk solution meant that their POS and the self ordering kiosks are combined into a single terminal, occupying as little space as possible in Koufu’s cafe.
MEGAPOS’s integration with cashless payment terminals also helped Koufu to receive cashless payments from customers digitally without their staff having to re-enter the bill amount into the payment terminal, which reduces human error and safeguards their revenue.
