Koufu Food Court (Sun Plaza)

Within a span of 10 years, Mr Pang Lim, who founded Koufu, expanded its business profile from neighbourhood coffee shops to modern food courts in residential areas, malls and campuses, realising his vision of preserving the unique Singaporean coffee shop culture. 

Being innovative and aggressive at heart, the Koufu team has never stopped trying to source for a better IT solution that caters to their demand of operation efficiency and also easily scalable for their further expansion. 

The successful MEGAPOS 2-in-1 POS Kiosk installation at Koufu’s NTU outlet showcased the capability of MEGAPOS to innovate and meet Koufu specific requirements within a short time frame. Koufu has since kicked off a project to adopt MEGAPOS POS systems for every stall in their Sun Plaza food court outlet. In order to efficiently complete the Sun Plaza food court project within the project timeline, MEGAPOS project and technical team had to work closely with Koufu’s outlet managers to understand each stall’s menu configurations and stall specific requirements, making prompt refinement to the POS system when required.

Prior to adopting MEGAPOS POS systems, it was a tedious and time consuming task to manage the multi-stall food court. Koufu’s management had to spend substantial effort to collate the daily sales amount of each stall, perform stall specific menu and pricing changes, and also had to cope with transaction security issues which threatened their revenue.

MEGAPOS POS system is a perfect match for Koufu as it empowers Koufu’s food court management team to perform menu updates and item creation from an online portal with minimal effort and without interrupting the stall’s operation. The menu updates and newly created menu items will be automatically synchronized to each stall’s POS menu in real time without any extra effort from the outlets’ staff. Koufu can also view each stall’s daily sales in real time without going from stall to stall at the end of the day to record their daily sales amounts.

Security at Koufu was also boosted with MEGAPOS POS system’s access rights management feature. This allowed Koufu’s management team to restrict staff from accessing sensitive features such as opening the cash drawer without an order tender, giving unauthorised discounts and free bills, voiding bills without authorisation or viewing sensitive reports. 

MEGAPOS POS system also provides Koufu with an audit trail which records every action done on the POS system. This allows Koufu to trace or be alerted to any suspicious activity and take the necessary precautionary measures to safeguard their revenue.

The Koufu’s Sun Plaza food court project showcased MEGAPOS’s project and technical team’s responsiveness and effectiveness in handling and coordinating a large scale project and has given Koufu the confidence to kick off the implementation of MEGAPOS POS system across all their food court outlets.
