What is Inclusive Growth Programme (IGP)?
Managed by e2i (Employment and Employability Institute), aims to help companies kick-start productivity projects, with companies in return sharing the productivity gains with their workers through higher wages.
This includes Automation & equipment cost, Process re-engineering & job redesign, Training for local workers, with an ultimate goal of increase low wage workers’ pay.
Up to 50% of productivity improvement costs can be funded and up to 90 per cent co-funding for training directly relevant to productivity improvements within the business.
Up to $300,000 per project.
Who can apply?
Significant productivity gain must be achieved through the project. There must be sharing of gains with workers through higher wages, performance incentives, etc. Subjected to tangible outcomes for workers, for example, salary increment, better career progression.
However, the fund cannot be used directly to pay for workers’ wages.
The wages of 20 per cent of the staff or those earning SG$1700 or less per month should also be increased
